In a dying valley, one fire still burns.

Every night the wolves come down from the dark. Your villagers gather around the last fire and fight to keep it alive until dawn. The fire is everything: it lights the village, it lets your Warriors see, and it is the only thing you can spend.

How it plays

  • Real-time village defense with cards. Monsters walk the trails to your fire. Click a card and it plays itself where it is needed most.
  • The fire is your only resource. Every card burns Ember. Priests pray to feed it. Let it burn low and the village goes dark: your Warriors see less and the monsters come out of the shadows.
  • Every villager has a role. Warriors fight out on the trails and fall back when hurt. Defenders hold the gate and raise walls. Priests pray for Ember. Cards can change anyone's role in the middle of a fight.
  • Four places to defend, each with its own people, monsters and music:
    • Frostwood Village: a mountain at your back, two forest trails.
    • Saltmere Cove: the sea and a shipyard; watch out for armored Shore Crabs.
    • Ashford Town: three trails and crossbow Brigands.
    • Greystone Castle: four gates, archer towers, and the Siege Troll.
  • Wolves that bite hard make villagers bleed, witches chain your Warriors, and after each wave a stranger arrives looking for shelter. Choose who joins.
